Sunday School - Adult
The Pastor's Sunday School Class for adults utilizes the Bible and Pastor's handouts for teaching. Parents might enjoy the 50-lesson series, "Firm Foundation" published by New Tribes Mission which is taught on 3 levels - children, youth and adult, adapted to each level of understanding and learning ability. Adults may purchase the "Firm Foundation" series to use in family devotions at home and give your children the advantage of becoming familiar with the lesson before Sunday School. This aids you, as parents, in carrying out your responsibility as given in Deuteronomy 6:6-7: "And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. I am sure you can see how effective this method is in establishing a strong foundation of the major doctrines of the Bible given in Genesis chapters 1 through 11 and naturally encourages family devotions.
Our pastor and teachers teach from the KJV Bible. We are a King James preference church and recommend this version to avoid confusion when following along with Pastor McKeel or other teachers; all those teaching/preaching/giving devotions, etc. must utilize this version. Your individual Bible preference is left up to your personal choice.
This series was developed by assessing actual "salvation" professions of tribal peoples versus "reformation" professions where the tribal people said and did what they "thought" would please the missionary! Missionaries realize Bible stories, although good for teaching the history of the Bible, are not actually teaching Bible doctrine, as God intended.
This series begins with God before creation, before the fall, before the need of a Savior and covers each doctrine, thus establishing a strong foundation with a belief in God's Word that will be unshakable by the current global worldview being taught in secular schools, colleges and the media.
So, Let's Go Back To: In The Beginning!
